gilding workshop

Introduction to Gilding – 7th September

Highlight and transform your projects using the art of gilding.

Gilding is the process of applying very fine metal sheets to a base surface to produce a luxurious highly reflective finish.

On this workshop you will be shown the different types of metal leaf, glues and patina. Learn how to apply the copper, gold or silver leaf using size (type of glue) and recreate an authentic aged look with patina and waxes.

You will leave with a lovely glass tealight holder and ornate picture frame transformed with some metal leaf.
