Embrace Your Softer Side With Pretty Pastels

I have been a big fan of pastels for several years now so I was pleased to see the Pantone COLOURS of the year were Rose Quartz and Serenity. This was the first year Pantone introduced two shades which work so well together and added a softer take into the mix.

The natural pairing of Rose Quartz and Serenity brings calm and relaxation. Pleasing to the eye in many finishes, matt, gloss, metallic and they will work brilliantly with greens, purples, and yellows. Add some metallic silver for a touch of sparkle.

Candy colours look gorgeous together but if you’re not keen to start repainting the walls like a striped beach hut on Brighton beach then introduce pastels colours into your home with accessories. Keep your walls neutral with soft creams, off whites or pale greys and then add a pop of colour with soft furnishings and home accessories.

You don’t need to spend a fortune to get the look. A change of cushions, a throw, some candle holders, decorative signs and jugs can help add that splash of gentle ice cream colours. Why not paint some picture frames, candle sticks, glass jars and bottles in pastel coloured chalk paints if you are on a budget.
